Android M and #AndroidDeveloper

Time to think on what Android M has in store for Android Developers.

Right on schedule, Android M arrived at Google I/O 2015

“We’re working incredibly hard to release our most polished Android release to date,” said Dave Burke, Google’s vice president of engineering for Android.

1. Android M will offer users finer-grained control over app permissions.
    # Maybe helps us in android programming not needing to give those inane replies to people downloading the apps that the permissions are necessary for the ad network  etc

2.Apps that give users links on the Web will now have the ability to create in-app Chrome Tabs, rather than launching the Chrome app separately.
#We have already had that with cross platform app development wonder kits!

3.Android Pay is Google’s new mobile payments service to compete with Apple Pay. It will work at any payment terminal equipped with NFC
  # Need to fiddle and learn how to develop Android apps with NFC! and new mobile application development tools.

4.Android M will also bring fingerprint support to apps
  # Is it needed?

5. Android M will bring a new power-saving feature to devices called Doze

6.Micro USB will disappear from Android devices as Google is bringing in USB Type C support

7.What else is in new in Android M?
Auto Backup and Restore for Apps

8.Noticeable visual changes to Android M is the new app drawer. This now scrolls vertically instead of horizontally.

9. New RAM manager for Android M with the aim of providing users with more accurate and comprehensible information regarding the maximum and average RAM usage of apps.

10.Adoptable Storage Devices is Google's new storage feature which essentially takes an external storage source (such as an SD card or USB drive) and formats it like an internal storage space. Also wrapped in a layer of encryption to soothe security concerns.
# Great for Android developers as customers can hoard more apps. Space is no more a problem! And so it helps the app creator with newer application development services.

11. Google Now has been improved upon once again in Android M. Focusing on three key ares: being aware of different contexts, providing answers and helping you take action, Google Now is now smarter than ever.
# Ugh, soon that will affect other apps.

12. Chrome is also leaner and faster than ever before.
   # Great for the Android app developer making browser based games and cross platform.

13. Google pulled the wraps off its new Google Photos service.
   # Need not use imgurl!

Official release is set to hit devices starting in the third quarter of 2015.
